Group founded in 2014, Love in Provence Quartet is the encounter of the artist Sissy ZHOU with the elements of Western music (classical, fado, modern, jazz).
After obtaining creative support from the Provence Alpes Côte d'Azur Region, Sissy ZHOU continues her musical creations with her 2 talented musicians.
By mixing Gu Zheng, percussion, piano and magical voice, the group combines world music that spans time (from 5000 years to our era).
A remarkable and magical journey between tradition, zenitude and modernity.

CAC 2014 Projet - Sissy ZHOU - La Croisee du Monde
旅法古筝演奏家周静琳Sissy ZHOU女士，十几年一直居住在普罗旺斯，不断尝试突破中国音乐传统的演奏方式及编曲风格。2014年她获得法国普罗旺斯－阿尔卑斯－蓝色海岸大区艺术创作奖，组建“LOVE IN PROVENCE"乐团，融合普罗旺斯当地音乐元素、欧洲多文化与西方流行风，开创出了跨越东西方文化、穿越古典现代的跨界佳作。
乐团的三位法国演奏家，以細緻原創的編曲，結合古筝、钢琴、架子爵士鼓等不同東西方樂器，以及人聲伴唱，徹底顛覆中国傳統國樂的刻板印象！

Show based on the Chinese novel “Love in provence”, written by Jinglin (Sissy) ZHOU in 2007, already performed in November 2014 as part of the residency “A la Croisée des mondes” at the Cité de la Musique in Marseille, supported by the Provence Alpes Côte d'Azur Region.
In China, when we think of "Provence", the sweet smell and color of lavender naturally come to mind to remind us of its romantic myth.
There is a type of love
which is not called “possession”;
There is a type of love
which is called “dedication”;
It comprises
“a thousand-year commitment”;
It is a promise,
a trust, an expectation,
even if it lasts a thousand years...
